The hear has 3 portions. Problems associated with the outer ear and middle ears are conductive hearing loss. Inner ear's is sensorineural hearing loss.
Most conductive hearing loss can be treated with drug or surgery.
Most sensorineural hearing loss, if not recovered within a short time (some ENTs say 2 weeks from onset) whether by itself or oral / inject-into-the ear steroids, are currently awaiting a cure.
